DYNAMIC3i Actual Costing Rules

1) If a component has not been issued at time job is confirmed, it uses last cost. This same logic currently exists in package when receiving items without a cost. For example doing a positive inventory adjustment.

You can see this in Screen A which is a drilldown of material cost for sub job 2. Note that instead of seeing a "details" button below document in material movement popup like you do when there are real issues against job, you see the document number that was used to get last cost of product and reference is shown below document so user see in in6000 that cost for this movement matches.

2) If labour has not been issued at time job is confirmed, all labour and overhead costs are calculated exactly as they would for standard costing.

Screen B shows this for sub job 2. Labour, setup and both overhead costs are exactly same as the cc0600 report for product f02.

3) If component is not at done status at time of job confirmation the unit and extended quantity in material cost popup are calculated exactly same as standard costing.

You can see this in Screen C for product r01 which is drilled down from sub job 1. However if component is at done status then the actual amount issued is used in the calculation of unit and extended quantities. You can see this for product r02. I only issued half as much as what my standard is but said it was my final issue so quantities are half of what cc0600 shows.

4) If a component is issued to at job at different cost lots then an average cost is calculated based on total movement amount of the cost lots is used.

See Screen D for product r01. Sales analysis works exactly same way in this example. If I received 5 and $1 and 5 @ $2 and sold 10, it would appear in SA with a cost of 1.5 for that sale, exactly like how it appears as a cost of 1.5 for this job. Note the material movement screen in this shot has a "details" button because it is now displaying real movements. The details button will drill down into in6010 so user can the original source where the costs came from, which in this example happens to be inventory receipts.

5) If labour operation is not at done status at time of job confirmation the labour and setup times in labour cost popup are calculated exactly same like standard costing.

You can see this in Screen E. However if operation is at done status then the actual labour and setup time is displayed and used in calculation of extended costs. You can see this for operation 2. I only used half the amount of time as what my standard is but said I was done so my labour and setup time are half of what cc0600 shows.

6) If multiple labour usage records are issued against an operation then an average labour rate is calculated based on total labour cost of labour usage records.
